Fake Blek le Rat prints, by urbanistec2a on Feb 5, 2021 10:58:43 GMT 1, I'm a street art collector, and though I read the Urban Art Association forum from time to time, have never posted.
I have very recently gone through the painful (but fortunately ultimately successful) process of getting a PayPal refund for fake/counterfeit Blek prints bought on eBay from a UK based fraudster. The Blek le Rat studio was very helpful in confirming the items I have were fakes.
The seller of the fakes trades under at least two eBay accounts and lives in Glasgow -I have his full address as he insisted on the items being returned which I reluctantly did on instruction from PayPal.
The prints are convincing and clearly made in a print studio and as a result, I would like to avoid others being taken in as I was. Please do run possible purchases past the studio before buying.

Fake Blek le Rat prints, by avec art on Feb 5, 2021 11:15:18 GMT 1, I recall someone from this region selling fake Monkey Parliaments, they might be the same people, they might not. But it would be helpful to people here to know the sellers ebay name.

Fake Blek le Rat prints, by urbanistec2a on Feb 5, 2021 11:19:57 GMT 1, The two accounts I bought from were tl7mlal and zprsdi.
Neither account location was shown as Glasgow on eBay. I don't know how he manages that as the Paypal payment (with presumably the same billing address) went to the same person - something I only realised once I started looking into it...

Fake Blek le Rat prints, by avec art on Feb 5, 2021 11:42:57 GMT 1, yea. I think you can simply set your location to wherever you like. They don't need to correspond to your paypal account. Pay pal and ebay are also separate companies these days.

Fake Blek le Rat prints, by The Strip Gallery on Feb 5, 2021 12:20:33 GMT 1, We always suggest three rules to friends and customers before buying a work of art: 1) verify the origin, 2) verify authenticity, 3) beware of the so-called "affairs"!
It is always better to buy a work from those who have or have had direct relationships with the artist, and always check the certifications.

Of course it's not water tight, but buying from (or selling to for that matter) eBay members with usernames like "zxyhlsd" or "pqwclz" , especially with a low feedback rating is risky.
Especially especially when the price is too good or descriptions are too convincing......

Fake Blek le Rat prints, by iamzero on Feb 5, 2021 13:49:06 GMT 1, I’m sure you can set you location to anywhere you want on eBay. There’s at least a couple of U.K. based member on here that I can think of that have their eBay location set as the States.

His feedback rating was 100% positive and in fact I gave him/them a good review too. Good communication, immediate shipping and I had been the only bidder in auctions. I guess others were more astute at seeing the warning signs...
