Phaidon regularly releases signed books with very popular artists. I have several of them and there was never a problem. When they released a signed Jonas Wood book we were also debating on UAA whether it's plate signed, hand signed, signed on a sticker, etc.
I'm pretty confident the Kaws book will be signed. Kaws probably just decided to set the 500 limit.

You might be right, as it's the same with phaidon. As they are not dedicated it would help stop the fakes if they are just white ones signed.
