This worked just fine for my previous Large Hirst!

Look forward to the wall shots (or vault shots )

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by Charlie Bronson on Mar 13, 2021 15:57:27 GMT 1, All this talk about edition numbers and such. I give a f*ck. Bought my insanely sized massive first signed Hirst. Happy with my purchase. Is going to look great on my wall. All you morons continue your conversation. I bet back in the day on this site there was more talk about how much you liked the artist and releases and not much about how much it's worth. Have a great weekend guys!
This site has always been this way. Although it seems as of late, the circus has more clowns. I bought for the same reason. A huge, signed Hirst for only 3k; no brainer, whether it’s an edition of 500 or 1500.

Here’s the ‘hanging mechanism’ on my recent H4-5. It’s a thick 1”x1” channel affixed to the back that makes it a breeze to hang and sturdy as ever. Better quality and much more effective than the hooks on the NHS editions.
Hoping Virtues will come with the same hardware.

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by jimmyjam on Mar 13, 2021 16:54:45 GMT 1, Until there is one placed in auction; nobody here really knows, including me, what the value is on these.
I kept hearing during the release - there would be a FLOOD of these on ebay - and yet I haven't seen one pop up at all this past week since the drop has ended.
There are many comments now on both, Hirst and Heni, IG expressing they missed out and want one. Who knows if these people, or previous buyers of them, want one or another one later.
I can see him do a more limited edition (ie edition of 35-50) diptych set of these in the future. It'll probably much more expensive and you will have to apply. - this is all a guess.

Why are you surprised? The buying only closed the other week and people are obviously waiting for the 3 month production to get in hand. Also, no one's going to list anything without knowing the edition numbers, which just got released. Some will have vaulted, some bought to keep and some to flip (the latter are a little more nervous or cautious now, hence likely to hold a bit longer than usual quick flips).

Which other signed, timed edition, widely publicised release of this type?

How do these edition sizes compare to other timed releases of his? Seemed like a fair price and to me, being uninformed on Hirst, those edition sizes seem smallish. People too overwhelmed with there being 8 maybe and not buying any at all?

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by jimmyjam on Mar 14, 2021 4:17:54 GMT 1, Many people who are typical quick flippers were convinced by people on here and the negative comments on ig not to buy these. I really think many of these went to people who are holding on to them and galleries. $3k is a lot for most to gamble with; especially being told these are bad investments. It’s harder to ship and store these as well compared to a paper print so it’s not that fun reselling these large pieces. Usually you would have seen one at least on eBay by now. This is a very good sign.
I still think these are fantastic pieces for their price and in a year or so they will do very well. I was thinking they would be 6k and we would have to apply for an edition of 50. While that would make them worth more I’m glad they were 3k and I could get two for the same price - and not deal with probable rejection from the application process.
If people want to sell for retail or less dm me and I think I know a few people who might want one.

Haven't seen it picked up as it's own thread but "The Currency" project sounds interesting. If I had to guess is sounds like Hirst has effectively created his own new crypto currency which is underpinned by these 10,000 pieces of art. So essentially it's like how the GBP used to be backed by gold but instead it will be by art. As art has not inherent value it will probably fluctuate in the same way currency / art does as it's traded, and by owning the crypto you have a claim of ownership to a proportion of the underlying artwork.
This is all a complete guess though..

Due to the fact that the technical know-how I'd well beyond Hirst's remit, and the fact that his latest release effectively jumped on the Crypto bandwagon by accepting Ether and Bitcoin as payment.....I very much doubt Hirst has created his own Crypto Currency. This new up and coming artwork is made to captilise on the fact that crypto is where the big money's at in this moment. Hirst is greedy, Hirst chase the money and Hirst has an ego. I imagine that Beeple, a relatively unknown artist 4 months ago is now selling millions more than him has severely bruised that fragile Hirst ego.

I’m pretty sure everyone is now aware this Beeple sale was just a massive marketing event for NFT. Every artist knows this is not going to last. If you want to make money on NFT, now is the only time. That shit is going to get so flooded, if not already, and be worthless in a year.
If NFT is worth anything then buy Disney stock now. Disney should be a trillion dollar company. They have enough content to make trillions in NFTs.
