Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by Charlie Bronson on Mar 15, 2021 3:34:51 GMT 1, Due to the fact that the technical know-how I'd well beyond Hirst's remit, and the fact that his latest release effectively jumped on the Crypto bandwagon by accepting Ether and Bitcoin as payment.....I very much doubt Hirst has created his own Crypto Currency. This new up and coming artwork is made to captilise on the fact that crypto is where the big money's at in this moment. Hirst is greedy, Hirst chase the money and Hirst has an ego. I imagine that Beeple, a relatively unknown artist 4 months ago is now selling millions more than him has severely bruised that fragile Hirst ego. I’m pretty sure everyone is now aware this Beeple sale was just a massive marketing event for NFT. Every artist knows this is not going to last. If you want to make money on NFT, now is the only time. That shit is going to get so flooded, if not already, and be worthless in a year. If NFT is worth anything then buy Disney stock now. Disney should be a trillion dollar company. They have enough content to make trillions in NFTs.
You’re right. It absolutely is nothing more than a marketing event. “The founder of nonfungible token (NFT) fund Metapurse bought the piece, Christie's announced Friday”

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by funyoung on Mar 15, 2021 19:57:32 GMT 1, Surprised there are zero on eBay. I think these went to collectors new and old, and will end up on many walls (and in quite a few boxes and vaults). Too rich and too risky for flippers, and that’s a good thing. Why are you surprised? The buying only closed the other week and people are obviously waiting for the 3 month production to get in hand. Also, no one's going to list anything without knowing the edition numbers, which just got released. Some will have vaulted, some bought to keep and some to flip (the latter are a little more nervous or cautious now, hence likely to hold a bit longer than usual quick flips).
Either that or people are embarrassed to admit they bought these!

He hand signed 10 of them I believe. That isn't one of them. He also hand signed 10 post cards.
Those were part of an instagram contest.

That's a pretty high price for a small one...

Wait until some wealthy person sees one in a Sothebys or Christies catalogue. There are so many people in this world who will NEVER touch Ebay - I'm not one of those people - but there are a lot.
They probably will go for $6-8k easy next year at a good auction house.

Then, the next timed edition the flippers will swarm and the market will be flooded with that release.
I think a lot of people bought these to enjoy. Its not that crazy to imagine.
That said, one good auction result and I'm sure a bunch will be 'looking for a good home'.

When will buyers start to receive them?
I am only guessing here but anyone wanting to enter them into an auction house would need to have done so already, or maybe now if not too late as they don't usually have multiple entries of the same item
No reason anyone should catch a cold with these, i think potential buyers will outweigh sellers..... therefore....

Cherry blossom trees are pedestrian and something you would find in a doctor's office. A majority of people bought them for the name of the artist and the signature.
My doctors actually has a couple of really nice ones out the front, in full bloom right now too

Harley Street doctor?
Personally I don’t think spot painting pointillist cherry blossoms by a man who’s worked with various formats of spot painting most of his career are “pedestrian” at all.
