Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by shinkaiser on Feb 25, 2021 20:51:31 GMT 1, I've literally been waiting two years for these to be released, in that time I've grown to dislike the 'Giclee-dibond' combo. they are also freaking huge! I though H-4 was large enough! Then there's the open edition! - Three strikes, I'm out! Shame, as I really like 'Justice' as an image. Aren't they more less the same size as H4? On reflection, I found that they are! Still, I found out too late that H4 was a little too large for my liking...Oh well.

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by qest on Feb 25, 2021 20:53:25 GMT 1, Coming in a bit too hot and heavy, you must be in for one of each. I’m holding out for the final panel which is a VIP only release titled “Self righteousness” all AP editions with pain smears from his trousers as an extra hand finishing layer and signed on each corner. I got that email in January too.

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by Winter on Feb 25, 2021 20:53:29 GMT 1, No charity involvement with these - these are a big cash (and crypto) grab. I’m guessing each will sell at least a thousand. Say 1000 x £3000 x 8 = £24m It's to say. Everybody expected him to sell tones of the NHS charity edition and the final numbers were quite modest if I remember correctly. These one are much more expensive.
And these ones are much better, in my opinion

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by Amber Halo on Feb 25, 2021 20:59:23 GMT 1, £2.5 bags for an open edition of a series that probably won’t be thought of as his best work just seems a bit of a punt. Think I’m going to have to pass Pretty much sums up exactly my thoughts, too. Also the dibond format does not do justice to paintings of this style; the texture of the heavy paint drops is lost in a shiny photographic reflection.

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by Pawel on Feb 25, 2021 21:02:35 GMT 1, Given H4 are quite popular and sought after, this is a chance of everyone who missed out. Same size, better image and cheaper. Of course the edition will be much, much higher but it's written on the back of the panel so nobody will see

Yeah agree any work where you have heavy use of impasto doesn’t translate well to digital prints, I think if they were screen prints with enough layering it could maybe work but guess that wouldn’t be feasible for a release of this scale

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by Criminal Mischief on Feb 25, 2021 21:24:20 GMT 1, Basically his version NFT but without the blockchain. Timed open edition, you can pay in crypto, they'll even store it for you in the "Heni Vault" so you won't have to worry about shipping before flipping.
Floral landscapes, he's really lost his edge in his old age. All that being said, still considering buying one, lol.

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by Lord Lucas Roham on Feb 25, 2021 21:26:41 GMT 1, Ive been a fan of the originals since I saw these popping up on IG however as someone who owns a few Hirst Editions I'll have to pass.
The medium doesn't do these paintings justice and in terms of investment opportunities then unless you're in this for 10+ years you're gonna lose your hard earned Dogecoin. Contrast this with the recent Richters then these look like very, very poor value.
Another half-arsed cash grab from a very off-the-boil Hirst. As Duncan Bannatyne says "I'm out".
If you want a genuine signed Hirst you can get a show poster for £150.

Great option if your partner doesn't approve the purchase.

I'm pretty sure they gonna print the label. No sure about the print

$128 to the UK

His last drop was better / his style and very limited.
I want a Hirst badly and like the size, but I can’t get past the Cath Kidtson, kitsch, old lady vibes I get from this image

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by cnrdvln on Feb 25, 2021 21:53:38 GMT 1, price and edition size hesitation will turn a lot of people off.
this will actually turn this release into a much lower than expected edition number ~ bonus to those who buy.
also given that there are 8, most people will only purchase one or two, again lowering the number.
I'd imagine 500 average per piece... just my thoughts

I think potentially less. Only one of each print per person, and no doubt galleries will gobble up a few sets, but price and edition uncertainty will keep things In check. Makes a change from his oversaturated spot prints market. I think these will represent a good value store in the future.

Some images I prefer more than other releases but it's the name of the piece also? it shouldn't bother me and it's never bothered me before but I think final choice will be based on the name also not just the image. You guys thinking the same or just chosen favourite image.?
Sat here with a coffee staring at these.

I'd rather spend £75 on a cherry blossom tree, plant it, in a few years sit under it and read a copy of Bushido myself.

Well got 6 days to ponder I guess
