Bob Dylan , by Coach on Feb 27, 2021 3:08:31 GMT 1, Even as an ageing punk I recognise Bob Dylan as the greatest song writer ever. I thought it might be good to have a thread dedicated to our favourite Dylan songs, or rarities or other Dylan related things of interest. For me, itโs hard to ignore Tangled Up in Blue, Shelter from the Storm, Like a Rolling Stone and many others, but this remains my favourite

Query whether your younger punk self may have guffawed at your present self's reference to "ageing".
It is an adjective that carries a whiff of euphemism.
__________
My own Bob Dylan choice happens to be the same as yours, It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)*.
Although less than ideal for thread content variety, I've brought something else to the table with a live performance of the song. The clip that follows is from a concert at the Odeon Theatre in Liverpool, on 1 May 1965:
Bob Dylan - It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) (1965) - uploaded by Omar Jebreel
__________
Dylan's 1965 tour of England was the last he would perform solo and acoustic. Wikipedia states, "After this tour, Dylan was hailed as a hero of folk music, but two months later, at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival [Rhode Island], he would alienate his fans and go electric."*
What needs to be emphasised is just how contentious the switch to electric guitar was at the time.
For a decent summary, see Wikipedia's page on the Bob Dylan World Tour 1966*. The 'Reception' section mentions the singer was constantly heckled and yelled at during concerts โ with highly emotive accusations of being a "phoney" and "traitor".
__________
In case some members are unaware yet interested, I recommend they check out the photographs of Barry Feinstein from the UK limb of Dylan's 1966 tour.
These ones were shot in Liverpool:
The blog post below is also a good read. It was published as a tribute to Feinstein shortly after he died in 2011:
