eBay and PayPal payments, by iamzero on Mar 1, 2021 12:47:47 GMT 1, Anyone have any recent experience with payment issues with eBay and PayPal? The missus sold a bunch of stuff over the weekend and nothing is showing up in her PayPal account? Something has clearly changed since she last sold at the start of December but we canโt figure out what? Contacted PayPal and theyโve told her itโs an issue with eBay but theyโre not as easy to get hold of.

eBay and PayPal payments, by petest on Mar 1, 2021 12:50:24 GMT 1, I think they've changed the eBay accounts so you now get paid directly to your bank account rather than via Paypal - but it'll take a day or 2, instead of immediate payment.

She said sheโd had an email asking her to add a bank account recently but I assumed that was from PayPal but it sounds like it couldโve been from eBay. Itโs annoying if you like to keep funds in a PayPal account so it feels like youโre not actually spending when you buy something. Itโs only small stuff like when the kids grow out of clothes you can sell them on to fund new things but PayPal and eBay help pages just send you round in circles.

My wife was trying to buy on ebay but payment won't go through.
The chat says it's a listing error. He told my wife to get onto the seller and get him to send a paypal invoice direct.

I can still get paid via PayPal but also bank transfer, credit and debit card etc.. you can set payouts to next day or weekly. European Competition law or something but itโs better and lower fees.
eBay Iโve found to be very responsive and have a call back facility.

I havenโt yet been asked to add a bank account to eBay and my last sale was around mid January that went straight to my PayPal account. Storing money in there to buy a new/ vintage turntable and amp.

Yeah, unless someone chooses to pay with PayPal, there are no additional fees other than the Final Value Fees from ebay which are deducted prior to the payout being sent so you no longer have to pay an eBay invoice each month either. |

Haha, same here. I much preferred the old way, but unfortunately there was no opting out of Managed Payments. At least I have a separate bank account I can send my ebay payments too.

I too often had issues with them, saying "sorry, the system could think there was a risk of potential .... different stuff...". For me, it's easier to make a simple bank transfer or credit card payment. I also sometimes use Revolt online service for the quick transfers and usually can speed up the process when calling a revolut phone number (which I found out here - revolut.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html) for help. There are many alternatives nowadays. PayPal is no longer the only option.

You can transfer money and make payments through PayPal by using your credit card
Or by providing your personal bank account information, and transferring money directly from your bank.
