For a work without COA I find that an enormous sum. I'm not sure what people's obsession is with the COA, clearly buyers don't care. I'd say over half of the secondary sales from other artsist that happen don't come with COAs and their are plenty of ways of authenticating these works. |

Your eyes are good start, inspection and comping, source of purchase/sale, provenance, all of these factors weighed together. I'm pretty sure most old masters don't come with COAs and people pay tens/hundreds of millions based on looking at all of the above. |
