Vanguard presents ‘Bristol Street Art: The Evolution of a Global Movement’, an exhibition exploring the instrumental role of local creatives in the development of British Street Art from the 1980s to the present day.
Celebrating notable moments, events and artist actions belonging to Bristol’s dynamic history, the narrative reflects on the creative response of the city’s pioneering underground scene throughout the UK’s turbulent social and political history.
From anarchist origins in the ‘80s and ‘90s through to the explosion of the scene in the early ‘00s, the exhibition brings together one of the largest collections of original works and memorabilia ever seen in the UK.
Beyond Bristol, we explore the evolving disciplines of British and Irish artists moving from walls, to bridge the contemporary and a new generation of creatives advocating for sustainable action through art on the streets.
Vanguard is curated by a collective of artists, specialists and collectors involved in the global street art movement and is presented in association with Bristol Museums at the M Shed.

As an Old School Bristolian living on the otherside of the planet, it makes me so proud of all the good people who are still at it, still keeping on, still holding the can.
Bristol has so much to be proud of and its so good to see it being celebrated.
I shall wear My Kuldesac T shirt with pride today.

As promised Mr Fuckwitt, some pictures from a very enjoyable visit to the M-Shed today.
I will echo Vandamme's comments, really is a great, very informative exhibition they have put on.
I am not the most knowledgeable, but really interesting on the history, and all the items they had on display to support it. Really informative, I could easily go again as a lot to see.
I'm not Mr B's biggest fan, but a nice balance of his input, and great to see a couple of items I'd not seen before, the 'Grappling Hook', and an original 'Mobile Lovers'.
Here are some pictures, apologies in advance for the quality, my camera one level above putting a cloak over your head, and a bit of a phhht as the bulb goes off -
