Vanguard Bristol/ Street Art: The Evolution of a ...., by theclash on Jun 26, 2021 19:35:52 GMT 1, Anyone going this weekend? Would love to hear some feedback and photo's please. As promised Mr Fuckwitt, some pictures from a very enjoyable visit to the M-Shed today. I will echo Vandamme's comments, really is a great, very informative exhibition they have put on. I am not the most knowledgeable, but really interesting on the history, and all the items they had on display to support it. Really informative, I could easily go again as a lot to see. I'm not Mr B's biggest fan, but a nice balance of his input, and great to see a couple of items I'd not seen before, the 'Grappling Hook', and an original 'Mobile Lovers'. Here are some pictures, apologies in advance for the quality, my camera one level above putting a cloak over your head, and a bit of a phhht as the bulb goes off -
That Conor Harrington looks great, really vibrant, John. Thanks for the pics

Vanguard Bristol/ Street Art: The Evolution of a ...., by John The Badgers on Jun 26, 2021 19:46:20 GMT 1, No problem theclash, and with you on the Harrington, perhaps my favourite piece on display?
There's also a Nick Walker statue just by it of 'Moona Lisa' which I took a picture of, but that came out all blurred, otherwise I would have added that as was quite something.

You may have seen before but a little bit about the inspiration of this piece from Conor’s Instagram if you scroll through the pictures

Thanks Mr Badgers. It looks very good from the photos I've seen online. Nice to see the Mobile Lovers being loaned out for this, as I think that was sold to a private collector in the end. Will try and make a weekend of it in Bristol soon.

Vanguard Bristol/ Street Art: The Evolution of a ...., by lha on Jun 28, 2021 20:27:54 GMT 1, A great show, really enjoyed the first room that covered the beginings and history. Will go back for a second visit to spend more time taking in the details from that room . Of the current works these pieces by Rowdy and Antony Micaleff were the standouts for me, wonderful works. The Rowdy abstracts are the best I’ve seen from him, and they worked incredibly well as a body of work. The Micaleff was stunning, the pics don’t do it justice. The paint was centimetres thick in places, four years in the making.

Vanguard Bristol/ Street Art: The Evolution of a ...., by Terry Fuckwitt on Jul 17, 2021 22:58:16 GMT 1, Stupid day to visit in this heat, but just got back and thoroughly enjoyed it. Totally agree lha, apart from Banksy, Micallef and Rowdy where great. I'm certainly looking to add a rowdy to the collection now. Bit pissed I missed those prints he released a couple of years back. Micallef was something else though, what a piece of art that is! Get yourself down there Jimbofatzboy, you would be creaming with all the 3D stuff🤣

Vanguard Bristol/ Street Art: The Evolution of a ...., by The Rat King on Sept 20, 2021 16:53:52 GMT 1, The show was exciting when I went Saturday
Seeing the classic Bristol crew getting some lost sort of praise was awesome
Xenz , sick boy , Paris , vermin , mr jago , dicy , just off the top of my head
These guys have their place in history and never get the praise they deserve
Rowdy had a cool edition of 30 on the vanguard site for about 60 quid , lovely image with his new style . Had to be done
Seeing some of those banksy works was a privilege They even have a framed petrol bomb in the gallery downstairs , I thought it was a throw away poster !
The video explaining nick walkers demise was a personal highlight
