Anything and everything by Seth.

About 5½ years ago my Mrs started a distance learning degree, at the University in her hometown of Rennes, Brittany. We were expecting our 2nd child at the time & the wife thought it would be a productive way to spend her maternity!!!! Knowing she wasn't going to get much sleep for a forseeable future she gave herself 3 years and knuckled down, studying hard, all hours, day and night.

We live in England and whilst the studying could be done here, the Mrs had to travel to France to sit exams. The 1st exam period was when our newborn was just 4 months old and our daughter was 3. Whilst we all travelled with her to France, the actual time of sitting exams was the 1st time that there had been any period of separation between my wife and our kids. I honestly don't know how she did it.

After each exam we would all meet underneath the Seth mural (below) painted close to the Uni. For a couple of weeks at a time, twice a year, for the next 2½ years, it became a place of waiting, for all of us, in eager anticipation. The fact that the mural was that of a Breton mother and her newborn child was a very happy coincidence. We hadn't picked it as a meeting place because of it - it was simply a convenient place just off campus. But it couldn't have been more fitting.

Mrs breezed her degree. And for obtaining her qualification I bought her the on vinyl edition of Over the Rainbow. Whilst it might not be the mural which we hold very dear (& will always visit when in Rennes), it and the other Seth's we own are sentimental of a very special time in our family life. They are also a reminder (not that i need it) that Mme Daylightrobber is a very determined woman, a fierce Brettone and an outstanding mum.
