Kaws x Brooklyn Museum Gift Shop Print - Snoopy , by artzzzy on Apr 4, 2021 8:06:38 GMT 1, I think the museum price for these was already too high, considering how tiny they are.
Wonder if someone is willing to spend even more money on them..

Kaws x Brooklyn Museum Gift Shop Print - Snoopy , by sgolby on Apr 4, 2021 17:32:19 GMT 1, Can we please refer to this as a Snoopy cut out? It is not nor will it ever be a snoopy print.
Not trying to derail the sale thread, but let's be honest about what these little things that Brian has been releasing are. Cutouts of random abstract print he has made over the years that for whatever reason, did not make it to the sales floor.

Kaws sold these as editioned prints.

I know, but they are not actually editioned prints, they are cut outs oft prints that โdidnโt make the cut,โ as Donnely has said in the past. Donโt get me wrong, I like them, but they are cut outs of prints that were rejects. A brilliant way to raise money for charity, which is what these are generally sold for. A more honest description would be editioned cut outs.

Kaws x Brooklyn Museum Gift Shop Print - Snoopy , by Smokeidaeye on Apr 4, 2021 18:55:04 GMT 1, For those complaining about the initial price of these, all proceeds from the original sets (Snoopy, dolphin, Garfield, Astroboy, and Felix the Cat) went to various charities and/or first responders during the height of COVID. I would assume these latest two will too, so 30 x $1,200 for a total of $17,200 per charity. It's too bad some of the money made flipping them won't go to those same charities.

Ah sorry, I thought you meant the seller was misleading by selling them as prints.

Kaws x Brooklyn Museum Gift Shop Print - Snoopy , by sgolby on Apr 4, 2021 19:29:42 GMT 1, No, the seller is selling them as what they were marketed as. I think these are much cooler than the circle and rectangular cutouts he has done in the past, but still they are cut outs.

So awesome that so much was raised for charity. What does that have to do with the secondary market for limited edition luxury goods?

Kaws x Brooklyn Museum Gift Shop Print - Snoopy , by Smokeidaeye on Apr 4, 2021 20:45:35 GMT 1, The secondary market is what it is.
Like anything, if supply doesn't meet demand, then the seller can charge as much as the market will bear. And in this case the supply is limited to 30 for one of today's most popular/successful/hyped artist so the re-sale price is going to be much higher than the initial $1,200.
Too bad the charity can't receive a percentage of the re-sell price ad infinitum...
For the record I have one of the prints from the initial set of five that I kept and framed. I think it looks great even though it is just a cut-out from another print. And I certainly have no intention of testing the re-sale market with it.
And the random colors from the original print work well with the rest of the stuff on the wall with it...
