With Urban Art / Street Art at it’s highest level of awareness, and Banksy creating the theater that some like to copy without the inspiration (Tabby, for example), it wouldn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out how to manipulate the market - whether pouring fuel on someone like Noir or the utter clown Mr Doodle, to name a few. When stuff gets overhyped one doesn’t need to be a keyboard warrior, it just smells bad. Some of these “artists” and their posses are doing the equivalent of cooking meth with dollar signs in their eyes.
I would hardly term a couple of members pushing an artist on here as “manipulating a market” or “overhyping”!

I guess if your incentive to purchase is purely investment and your taking you investment advice from random strangers on the internet. Sorry I just don’t look at art that way. If I like an artwork and I can afford it I buy it. If people were buying artworks and not receiving them, that’s fraud Are estate agents fraudsters? Are auction houses fraudsters? Are car salesman fraudsters? I could go on I have 2 friends that are struggling artists and would love some $’s one can’t even affford his own rent. You like it you buy it, unless you receiving something you didn’t pay or or not receiving anything at all it’s just noise

Crap takes up slots / visibility the more deserving / talented may deserve. Pretty much the rule of life.

Read again, I never said members here were manipulating the market, I believe the gullibility of some members is being manipulated by the teams dreaming up concepts of hot new street artists.

Two suggested factoids for you old sport: Noir was creating street art in the 1980s before the invention of the modern internet and following the development of the internet and the advent of social media Mr Doodle has amassed 2.7m Instagram followers. Hardly comparable to this 'Arlo Sinclair' chap. This Sinclair fellow is clearly in the process of being pumped old sport as many recognise. The pumpers are a narrow cabal at the other end of the spectrum to derivitive, skinback et al. It's incredible sport to watch!

For the 99% of neutrals on the board, this was getting pretty nasty to read and overstepped the mark. This place is far better than that so please just get along and stick to friendly banter. What was the reason for deleting so many posts in this thread? Doesn’t happen in others. It’s was an absolute Troll Fest. As always - If you like the art, buy it. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Just coz somebody else says it’s amazing! But you think it’s shit, doesn’t make it a scam 🤣 Just move on to the next thread and chat about something your actually interested in. Shock horror! Someone owns a piece by the artist and they post how great it is, Someone works for the Artist or Gallery and they say how amazing the art is! What do people expect them to say? 🤪 Just get on with it please 🥰
