A letter from a former inmate as a COA definitely doesn't seem like rock solid provenance. Not to mention that the website the one picture is from doesn't even appear to be an active website.

I'm not a huge fan of prison labor but if the story checks out then this would have to be a uniquely rare situation.

This doesn't change the fact that its rarity could be on par with other KAWS grails (Darth Vader, Pinocchio, Storm Trooper, etc.) which have fetched 5x this price even if the bid is at $2K
I might be going crazy but this seems like a risky if potentially profitable investment

Someone in the prison with good 3D skills created it and printed it on the 3D printer. KAWS never designed that piece.. but you can be sure that more will find their way onto the market now that they've seen how much it can fetch from the gullible collectors.
