Framing advise Helen Beard, by Erik Ibiza on Apr 16, 2021 9:49:01 GMT 1, Need some advise framing this amazing colorful Helen Beard print.
I usually come with an idea to my framer and let him give some insights too and most of the time we find each other halfway and I'm really happy with the result. This time we couldn't really find common ground on how to frame this and so I'm asking you great people here for advise.
The framer we are talking about is kinda old fashioned and always comes up with passe-partout. This time I thought that was not a good idea for two reasons....I think it makes the print bigger than needed and since I really wanted to work with white this time I saw it resulted in three colors of white, the print, the passe-partout and the frame. (example pic of a similar framed Helen Beard included) I had a different idea and that was framing without a passe-partout (example pic also included).
My framer said the print would blend out more in a passe partout so now I'm in doubt and I thought I'd take some more time to think about it. Just curious what you guys would do. The print itself and the frame I have in mind are on the last pic. Thanks in advance.
