Do not try to match the gold will only take away from the art. I would also stay away from a black mat.

I actually didn't consider floating/no mat on this, but that really interests me.
I have several other geddes works all with a black mat so I just automatically went to that, but you're right in that in may not be best here.

Initially planned to float it but at that XXL size it was going to take way too much tape, it's also printed off a roll, so naturally curls even after flattening. I tried black initially but was too dominant, ended up copying a couple of the softer colours in the plants and suit, warm cream matt and a dark brown natural wood frame, felt it tied in nicely with the work.

Following suggestions I went away from my 4 initial options for a high float on black mat with a simple profile black frame, and im glad I did. I wanted to go with white but the shades never quite worked in my opinion.
Also it's huge (9ft ceiling)!
