Split battens for framing..., by John The Badgers on Apr 19, 2021 10:52:27 GMT 1, Quick question, I'm trying to source some wooden split battens to hang a couple of pictures, need to be like this -
Has anyone any links to a UK source?
Thinking these profiles should be readily available, but cant for the life of me locate them via searches etc.
Thank you for any help.

Split battens for framing..., by proffesser on Apr 19, 2021 11:42:23 GMT 1, Any decent timber merchants should be able to do this in whatever wood you want.... most i've used and seen is in MDF but it is just a circular saw set to 40-45 degrees and alternately stripped down the length of the wood...

Split battens for framing..., by John The Badgers on Apr 19, 2021 11:45:26 GMT 1, Thanks billhicks and professer, appreciate the input, many thanks.
I was thinking an 'on-line timber merchants', as you say, not eye surgery what I'm after, this what I'm struggling to locate. I'm sure a pretty standard item when you locate the right site?

Split battens for framing..., by John The Badgers on Apr 19, 2021 11:59:27 GMT 1,
Thanks Terryfuckwitt, did come across these on my searches, but the 2 items I am mounting, quite large, and there's one half of the split batten built into the framing -
Just want the other half to fasten to the wall. 10mm deep, with a 45 degree angle.

Best bet then is as proffesser said, either get your local timber/hardware store to cut you a piece or use a jigsaw and do it yourself.
