Nope. Exactly the same and signed and numbered on reverse so will never be seen (if framed)

The AP's are more desirable because there's fewer of them (x5) and because it's signed and numbered on the back you're paying the premium purely for the bragging rights. A bit like NFT's

AP's hold no extra value for me if they are not slightly different from the regular edition.

Agreed, used to be artist would look at different versions and choose based on these. doesnโt seem like that anymore, just an extension of the regular issue. Saw one recently with 60 AP

Collectors like to have APโs. They feel a little bit special. As such they are worth a little more. Only a little, mind you. Of course, if the AP is different from the main run, then thatโs a different kettle of fish. Though they should really be called limited variants, as having APโs different to the main run is not really what an AP is for.

Fair shout, but why does an artist need x-amount of Artist proofs? I believed originally that artist proofs were pretty much the final draft with the odd tweak/variant..?

APs should be exactly that. A few extra copies for the artist (to approve, and maybe keep)

APโs were originally for the artist to sign off that they were happy with the print. I think things have moved on from that. I now think APโs are often for an artist to giveaway to friends and family. It does get a bit silly when there are dozens of APโs as sometimes seems to happen. I suspect their purpose has simply evolved over time. Some of the printers on here might be able to expand.

Jealous have asked for the advice from the major auction houses to help ensure that this does not happen.'
It may stop some auction sales although I think eBay is a different matter.

Were these conditions of resale made aware to you before entering into a contract to purchase ?

Were these conditions of resale made aware to you before entering into a contract to purchase ? No. I have intention of selling it in the short term and there is no legal obligation not to sell just a request. It would appear to just be a desire to stop people flipping immediately and seeing 7 or 8 of a new print on eBay before it has been despatched.
