Today I had the privilege of visiting the (rather quirky) Damien Hirst Gagosian exhibition. I saw some of his work a few years ago at the Tate Modern as a teenager and was completely weirded out by the whole experience, but was pleasantly surprised by what I found today - I spent half the time thinking the prints were photographs until I realised they were actually Oils - shows how much I know about Art!

...And that's kind of why I'm posting here. I came across the infamous Coke/Diet Coke Machine and managed to pick one up. Like just about everyone else who realised they were signed, I immediately saw an opportunity to make a bit of cash and pass it on to someone who might actually appreciate the collectibility of the item. 

The problem is - Cards on the table - I haven't got the faintest clue as to what it's worth! Google and eBay have told me anything from £50 to about £5000, and so I'm inclined to believe the truth is somewhere in the middle (although I think four figures might be a bit of an ask...!)

In any event, I wanted to auction it here first before I put it up on eBay as I know some on here might genuinely appreciate it as a piece - instead of just reselling it on. I'm going to start things off at £100 (as I have seen numerous others fetch that sum on eBay) and allow the informed market to decide what they think it's worth.

I'm happy to pass my email appointment confirmation from the Gagosian and send photos/videos of the piece to any interested buyers via private message or other means, and would happily ship it worldwide tracked and signed and package it appropriately so it gets there in one piece! Also happy for collections in London! 

So, with that in mind, please make an offer if you're interested.

I had a feeling I'd be accused of gouging - from that link I just saw that stikfan posted I think £100 is in the same ballpark, but feel free to offer what you like above or below that if you're genuinely interested and not just having a whinge - I'll take what I can get, frankly 

And no, no signed Guinness. I can try and arrange a can of Fosters signed by Paul Hogan? 

...But then there are people listing them for thousands, so I haven't the faintest tbh

Then why are people paying upwards of ten times that... I'm not saying I know what it's worth, but the market tells me you're wrong. Perhaps it's artistically worth that - can't comment on that for the life of me!    

I get that vibe - I've had the thread live for twenty minutes and already there are clearly some who know better than price equilibrium theory

If others are available at £50, why start at £100?... Mine was £1. Aren't they still worth that considering you can just go to the show and get one?
