NuArt is returning to Aberdeen , by Reader on Jul 5, 2021 12:58:41 GMT 1, If this is what happens when you do leave the city can you perhaps leave more often? 😂 I meant to add, the Snik piece is actually a sister piece to one they’ve done for NuArt in Stavanger and they’re deliberately leaving the right hand side of the mural blank to allow some space between it and the big Herakut piece on the side of Aberdeen Market. My concern for both is that I think the Market will be torn down before too long and that would mean we lose both and the Ben Eine piece. We’ve already seen the Martin Whatson Golfer ripped down when Mackays (the oddest shop in the city) get demolished did we not? I should know as I work around there but, for obvious reasons, haven’t been “in” work for about 18 months. Do you have a picture of the Herakut?

NuArt is returning to Aberdeen , by Yabadabdo on Jul 5, 2021 13:00:19 GMT 1, Going to be a stunner this one! Did you manage to bag a free print in the treasure hunt mrizzle ? I have spent much of the afternoon running about the city but I did indeed manage to bag the second last one they put out. I’d been messaging them on Instagram commenting as I was breathing out my arse having done more exercise than I’d done in the last 18 months chasing them down. They saw me coming as I rocked up to snag one and watched on clapping and laughing. They took the time to spend some time chatting (both absolutely charming) and even invited me for a beer (which I sadly had to decline having got a time limited pass to be running about the city). Was so cool getting to meet them both and to find them so totally down to Earth and funny. The print was a real bonus and makes it a bit more special having a bit of a story behind it.   Grabbed some photos of Henrik Uldalen’s too while I was in.    
Kudos to Snik for adding excitement with a print giveaway and love the idea behind Nuart, it gives many people a chance to experience great street art who don't live in London, Paris etc. I'll try to get over for Fanakapan  Love it.

It's particularly sad that the Hyuro will come down too. A beautiful piece from an artist who is sadly no longer with us.

Will upload some photos of them all in due course but really blown away by Helen Bur’s piece and can’t wait to see that one finished. Looks superb with Ernest Zacharevic’s piece from a couple of years ago.

This year, the graffiti and street art festival that gained international fame, returns with a new edition under the title RECONNECT. In an attempt to articulate the social divisions and distance caused by the pandemic, the organizers tend "to rediscover those social connections and relationships to the people, places and spaces" in the local communities.
Nuart Aberdeen 2022 will hopefully enable new connections and diminish the anxiety that colors our daily lives by bringing the works of 11 national and international street artists and the accompanying program.

Well NuArt has well and truly kicked off. After corresponding with Nuno Viegas via Instagram (and being a massive fan and collector of his work), I took up his invitation to come past today and meet him. I am happy to say that it was an absolute pleasure and he took time to come down from his platform and chat for a while.
I didn’t get much chance to see some of the other works in progress but will endeavour to get past again during the course of the week and share some photos.
A rather well known Spanish artist is here 🤫 but, understandably, doesn’t want any photos taken of the unfinished piece. My interaction there was somewhat more awkward for one reason or another.

There’s even a security guard there to make sure of that fact. Fair enough really but hoping to be able to get a photo of it tomorrow perhaps. If you’re wondering (or here looking for it), it’s quite literally on the doorstep of the Citizens Advice Bureau building on the main street that runs down the city centre (Union Street).
