Banksy Super Size Prints., by Daniel Silk on May 18, 2021 2:03:33 GMT 1, I think with the type of values and collectors that the Banksy Prints are with, the sizes of the original prints are very small. I wonder if Banksy might ever release some special Super Sized prints of the old images?
Imagine prints at least 1m x 1.5m, with the images reworked with increased details. Editions of just 100, all of course Signed, and maybe in different colours than the original editions. What price do you think Banksy could charge for something like that? ยฃ300,000 - ยฃ500,000 each? Maybe more?
I think it would really help concrete his place in the Art World and give the images the Size they deserve when displayed in serious galleries alongside the likes of Warhol.
Remember the original prints were done on cheap paper, sold for ยฃ30-50, for ordinary people to display in ordinary sized homes. The values have increased so much now that the typical owner would ideally be wanting BIG images to display.
What do you think?

Banksy Super Size Prints., by Daniel Silk on May 18, 2021 2:49:13 GMT 1, i think if he ever does print those heโd do a lottery system, like with the GDP store stuff, i also think heโd b reasonably priced, like 10k per print, or less.... 10K ๐ณ but surely the resale would be around ยฃ500k each? I think he would be better to price high to avoid flippers and ensure they go directly into the hands of serious collectors, Art Galleries and museums. Leave the original small prints for the current market and give the new Super Size Editions to the higher level collectors.
I just think some high end collectors must look at the old Banksy prints and think they look a bit shit? And Banksy could produce something now, on higher budgets, that better matches the markets he is now in.

Banksy Super Size Prints., by Sebastian Dusseldorf on May 18, 2021 7:35:50 GMT 1, I'm not fully convinced that "looking good in a gallery" is very high on the priority list of Bansky. Would rather love him to do the exact opposite and have him put his art (maybe just a blockchain code) physically on a microchip, too small for the eye to see. That would be a great way to comment on the current NFT hype. Really don't see much of an artistic value in super sized prints just for the sake of being big.

Banksy Super Size Prints., by Forbidden Love on May 18, 2021 7:58:29 GMT 1, If High end owners look at it and think they are shit then they are buying the wrong thing. They could also buy the newer prints which are most likely better quality. But does it really make that much difference, I think he would rather sell big originals or new prints then rework old images. I do think they donโt work as well being that big, when it gets that size you expect it to be a painting.

Banksy Super Size Prints., by Arty Farty 15 on May 18, 2021 8:57:40 GMT 1, This seems like a desperate Shepard Fairey tactic where he milks the same image across different sizes. Mr B tends to rework where improvements are to be had - much like sales end v2

Banksy Super Size Prints., by Daniel Silk on May 19, 2021 18:05:35 GMT 1, I wonder what percentage of the original print editions still exist in good condition? I fear a lot were damaged before the values were realised, plus bad framing. I wonder that Banksy needs to make sure he has enough good quality and good size prints still in circulation and popping up in Auctions to keep things rolling. If all that appear are fakes and damaged prints, I canโt see that itโs good for him in the long term. By introducing new higher quality pieces, would keep things ticking over for the next few decades. Just my opinion.
