"This is a map of the Culture War that rages mainly online. I was thinking of cold war propaganda maps showing the ‘Communist Threat’ in the 1950’s. The godlike figure at the top is Mark Zuckerburg CEO of Facebook, I chose him because he is the best known face of social media power. Social media is mainly financed by advertising so those in charge want users to stay online as long as possible, the algorithms make this happen by encouraging conflict and outrage. The red arrows represent this feeding of negative emotion that keeps people scrolling. All the ships, planes and other combatants are labelled with the issues that swirl around this artificially polarised struggle. In the centre of the map is the presidential plane Airforce One colliding with a Russian bomber labelled ‘Climate Change’, when I made this print I thought that was the headline issue, but now I might have made the ‘Racism’ helicopter and the ‘Black Live Matter’ jet fighter more prominent. Hurricane ‘Woke’ off the east coast still seems very topical though."

Anything affordable

Posterbob is a bigger fish than me in this art pond so will no doubt have greater knowledge but I can see couple of auction sales of £2800 and £2750 hammer price so would have thought you might be able to get one for a bit less on secondary if you're lucky...that said I like it and doesn't seem crazily expensive. How much was Gay Black Cats from Serpentine?

I think it was £1.1k but higher edition. Btw looking at the Bob's post it seems that he agrees with you, that it can be bought cheaper at auction.

Hello, I recently bought a small investment mug from the Holburne. When it arrived, I was surprised to see that some big bits of the gold detailing is cracked and bubbled. I presumed it was a fault, at least it doesn’t look like that on photos I’ve seen. I emailed the Holburne and they’ve said it’s meant to be like this...? Can anyone tell me if their mugs have crackled gilding like this or am I being fobbed off? Cheers.

Hmmm, now less reassured. Oh well. According to the shop, their remaining stock is also bubbled (‘part of the manufacturing process...’), so I have the choice to stick with my maybe-a-second mug or return it (at my own cost). I like the mug so I’ll keep it. Interestingly the website says they are out stock, but I know they have stock, so it’s probably worth other people knowing that future purchases could be maybe-a-bit-defective.
