Battle for Brick Lane, by wardance on Jun 2, 2021 23:07:19 GMT 1, battleforbricklane.com/
London has suffered a tsunami of soulless corporate development ( eg the Raymond family's cleansing of Soho )
The family who own the Old Truman Brewery want to build an ugly shopping mall with four floors of corporate offices on top at the corner of Woodseer Street and Brick Lane.

Battle for Brick Lane, by Woodey1001 on Jun 2, 2021 23:51:41 GMT 1, Bricklane is better for the gentrification. Prefer it now to ten years ago! They just need to keep the old bits near Spitalfields. Rest needs rebuilding 🤷

Battle for Brick Lane, by Woodey1001 on Jun 2, 2021 23:55:55 GMT 1, And scale? They are basically inside the city of London. This is a lost cause. It's gonna all be very tall buildings, no doubt.

Battle for Brick Lane, by moron on Jun 10, 2021 23:48:04 GMT 1, It's a huge site and looks like they are developing it in stages.
How exactly is this development detrimental to the area?
Who will it affect exactly?
What does Brick Lane have to offer in it's present form?

Battle for Brick Lane, by tab1 on Jun 11, 2021 0:36:46 GMT 1, I Suppose a few people just like the eclectic atmosphere and numerous independent pop up shops of original products and ideas dotted around that Camden market used to be like in the 80s/90s before the commercialization of the area. Good luck to the property owners from the 80s that are still there All areas that used to be unpopular are in demand for development around London, Brixton and Putney in the last few decades has changed dramatically
