Wondering reason of Counter editions prices, by lollo88 on Jun 3, 2021 15:43:41 GMT 1, Can anyone help me understand the reason of the very steep pricing of counter editions prints? I mean they have some great pieces but the prices are quite scary! The latest Jon Key print is an absolute beauty, but 2.000 € is a steep mountain to climb!

Wondering reason of Counter editions prices, by Happy Go Lucky Chap on Jun 3, 2021 15:53:03 GMT 1, That’s an absolute steal compared to £12K for a Tracey Emin.
Their prints are priced in tiers. If you buy on release they are relatively cheap (still expensive) but hold off and the price will quickly climb the more that are sold. The latest Tracey Emin prints have started off around £3K or so, before rising to £12K, and eventually selling out.

Wondering reason of Counter editions prices, by Ravnur 2020 on Jun 3, 2021 16:39:32 GMT 1, Sounds very steep when you can buy a Jon Key original for 6000 USD 😏
I think - generally speaking - this very steep pricing is very dangerous for young artists. High prices speculation before they have had the chance to build a solid following and body of work.
And with all due respect I don’t think you can compare Jon Key with Tracey Emin.
