Verifying 727gallery, by un987hkd on Jun 3, 2021 23:23:01 GMT 1, I recently tried to wire money to 727gallery for a Banksy print (will be my first art purchase). My bank freaked out and locked my account and denied the transfer. I get it, wiring money is risky. And it's not necessarily a red flag against 727. I asked about using paypal and was told I could pay using "Paypal Gift".
I did some searching in the forums here and the mentions of 727 gallery I have seen are mostly people using it as a pricing point reference. Although I did find a couple of threads that are pretty convoluted and appear to involved a bunch of deleted posts so it's hard to follow them.
archesart.com also refers people to 727gallery but their website is also very difficult to validate. They are both "online only" galleries. So neither have reasonable street addresses listed.

I have purchased a number of prints from the owner numerous times under the Newartonline company and always good safe deals. The owner is a member here (multiple user names right enough and oft discussed on here 😂) and you should expect some PM’s from him.....

Verifying 727gallery, by Lazarus II on Jun 4, 2021 0:53:27 GMT 1, ur about 2 send a ton of money 2 a bank account, understand if they take ur cash, close that account, then tell u 2 piss off, you’ll most likely never get ur money back, then have the uphill battle filing a criminal report n then suing across the pond.... if the piece is as expensive as this type of post makes me think it is (plus it’s banksy) u should take the time 2 fly out there, verify n meet the ppl urself, n do the deal in person.... just my 2 cents, keep the change 🤷🏻♂️

Indeed but that could be said for loads of purchases you can make anywhere and Im not aware of Luis ever taking the money and running; he has been selling Banksy (and other big ticket items) for at least 10 years. He too also purchased dodgy Petrol Bombs from Nick /Lobster and sold them on to others but once this was established he immediately refunded his buyers and threw in some extra stuff by means of compensation, its discussed elsewhere here.
As Pipes alludes to, you may well get some interesting PM’s along the way, ive had many myself, but I wouldnt be concerned about purchasing from him again.
