Hand finished Editions, by aumi on Jun 18, 2021 9:54:37 GMT 1, Is it just me or do more and more hand finished editions pop up on the market? What do you guys think about hand finished editions? Do small additions to the print make a big difference and make them really more desirable?

Hand finished Editions, by orchid on Jun 18, 2021 10:01:18 GMT 1, I guess this is a reference to the Bradfords? Anything with more of the artists hand and time is more desirable to the collector generally and is a good way to access something unique by a sought-after artist without buying an original.
Some are better than others - both Katherine Bradford edition had extensive hand embellishment applied. The kunath with the rainbow was lazy on the other hand.
I think they're no bad thing if done well.

I think they're no bad thing if done well. completely agree. I dont like hand embelishment if they are done lazily or for the sake of just doing it and raising the prices of a print. The lazy ones are soo luke warm and shows how much the artist and printers care about you:)
The kunath rainbow is exactly what i was thinking about a lukewarm embelishment. Also i dont consider an artist embelishment the same as an artists aided embelishment. The artist must embellish their own work, not staff etc.

I think they're no bad thing if done well. Bradford, Kunath, Calleja, Zuckermann, Harrington and many more. Avant Arte released quite a few as well. Vogelart is producing unique editions as well. For me personally I actually like that fact that there is something uniquely done by the artist if it is done right.

Perhaps, but I was being facetious
