What do Damien Hirst and John Barrowman have in common?, by moron on Jul 2, 2021 15:29:17 GMT 1,
It appears that a lot of celebs etc that got away with bad behaviour in the past are no longer flavor of the month in todays #metoo world.
Will it affect prices and should flippers holding stock care?
""With possibly one of the most ill-judged remarks by an artist in recent times, following the 11 September attacks, Hirst told BBC News Online: โYouโve got to hand it to them on some level, because theyโve achieved something which nobody would have thought possible, especially to a country as big as America. So on one level they need congratulating, which a lot of people shy away from, which is a very dangerous thing.โ On 18 September 2002, the YBA artist apologised โunreservedlyโ for his remarks. This is only one of many incidents that the chainsaw-wielding artist has become renowned for. Late-night drinkers at Londonโs Groucho Club would often startle their more shockable friends by describing Damienโs party trick involving his genitals and a 50 pence piece. The artist eventually fell foul of the law after exposing himself in a bar โThis woman from Boston got upset and now sheโs suing me for $50,000.โ What precisely was she suing the artist for was the question, Hirst smiled. โToxic shock.โ""

ps If you think this topic is in bad taste it's not.

What do Damien Hirst and John Barrowman have in common?, by Horatio Nelson on Jul 2, 2021 15:42:38 GMT 1, I donโt get it. This is already a matter of public record, so the comparison doesnโt quite work.

The relevance is today's cancel culture and social media.
It doesn't take much.

What do Damien Hirst and John Barrowman have in common?, by moron on Jul 3, 2021 16:02:02 GMT 1, Perhaps I've led a very sheltered life but what's this party trick involving genitals and a 50 pence piece? I don't know why the lady is complaining, quite honestly. What she should have done is took a pic and sold it to the Daily Mail. I haven't heard about the 50 pence piece. I heard about putting a cigarette in the end of his sausage at parties.
Cocaine and and exposing oneself and behaviour that was ignored years ago. Did not have todays social media to make an issue of it.
