Brazilian artist Bruno Novelli aka Bruno 9Li, by EHC on Aug 5, 2021 17:40:46 GMT 1, Anyone here remember Brazilian artist Bruno 9Li? He had some sold out US shows years ago and some good reviews, but not much exposure otherwise.
Randomly became reacquainted with his works a few years ago while gallery hopping in São Paulo and the show blew me away. Really cool abstract paintings with a unique tropical Brazilian contemporary style. Very different from his early intricate mythical drawings, which is what I initially became interested in. I am now working with him to try and bring more international exposure to his amazing art.
He already has quite a solid foundation of important collectors, corporate collaborations (Nike, Adidas), and had a solo show with legendary art dealer Thomas Cohn (who also discovered Blue Chip artists Beatriz Milhazes and Adriana Varejão). And he is scheduled to have his first solo museum show at MACRS (Museu de Arte Contemporânea, Rio Grande do Sul) on October 20, 2021.
He is an incredible artist, how he is not more well known is beyond me, but hopefully that will change soon. We are putting together a solo exhibition of new works and a print release, set for August 23rd. More details to follow soon. In the meantime, here are a selection of works that display his various styles:

I have a few limited press books, vinyl LP's he did album artwork for, a couple prints and a portfolio of prints. Wish I had some originals, either paintings or drawings. His new works are phenomenal, especially the ones referencing the Epic of Gilgamesh.
