With PoS it should reduce the energy footprint between a factor of around 200x and 850x (approximately - read the article for exact figures). This would make it more energy efficient than visa transactions and hopefully put the energy issues to bed. Ultimately it's still new technology and isn't that efficient. However you have to also consider that the developers behind it know this and are working on solutions that should fix it soon. It won't be a problem forever. Soon… six years is what Vitalik said. The editions sells out in seconds, despite that he has released new editions rather frequently over the last year. The secondary market is great with higher prices than the release price.

There will be competing open environments and right now most people are investing in unproven early projects. If tech history has taught us anything, the first on the scene is rarely the most successful. |

I’m a little torn. The mint price (.3 - .6 ETH) is motivated using prices of original pieces (starting at 5500$) saying that these are equally original. But the 7777 pieces are a combinations of 150 unique figures dressed in a combination of 50 unique attributes (correct me if I’m wrong).
Would be more fair to look at it (and price it) as 150 editions of 50?
But then again, it’s not physical art so maybe it’s unfair to compare apples to pears?
But yeah, in the sense that these are 150 drawings (+attributes)
