As with paper and canvas, there are works that have artistic merit and monetary value and those that do not. On the monetary side the ease of use for NFTs is still a limiting factor in the amount of people willing and able to collect in my opinion - so supply exceeds demand. But as a medium there are more and more ways to use NFTs as part of creative expression and/or to retain a connection between an artist and current collectors (rather than those who may have purchased but since sold). Still there are plenty of NFTs being created and traded.
