Anyone experienced “d-roller”?, by Naor on Oct 2, 2021 9:24:05 GMT 1, Hi all, I need to unroll some prints from tubes, generally they haven’t been stored in a tube for over a few months. And now need to move to their permanent flat storage residency. as I was researching what’s the best way to unroll prints I came across the “d-roller” (https://www.itsupplies.com/D-Roller-Model-150-50in-Width-1-5-tube-p/dr150-50.htm) that seems to do the magic.
A few questions to the guru’s in the forums: 1) is that the right way to unroll a print? 2) what do you think about that product? Anyone experienced with it? 3) are there any professionals that do that type of work for a pay? When I asked one of the recommended framers he said in general it’s not worth his risk if he won’t be framing it.
Thanks, N

Anyone experienced “d-roller”?, by Morfx on Oct 2, 2021 10:58:10 GMT 1, No D-Roller here..
A very in-expensive way..
Two 9mm mdf sheets taped one side, the weight of the upper board flattens every print I've had in around a week.. 👍
I used a strong Aluminium tape.
Total cost around £25 ( boards cut to 1200x900)

Anyone experienced “d-roller”?, by Naor on Oct 3, 2021 20:15:27 GMT 1, Thanks! how do you avoid creases? I assume it’s hard without being able to see how the work is locked in place by the weight of the wood?

I don't really understand the question..? Obviously, get the print out the tube, if it's not tightly rolled, should be easy..
You could even use books to hold it in place whilst lowering the top and pull them out as you lower the lid..
