Big Paris museums (Louvre, Orsay, Pompidou...) are really worth their reputation so I would definitely advise to pass by them (Huge Napolitan exhibition opening at Louvre the weekend you are there).
Should you be looking for more emerging art, you can check out FRAC Le Plateau in Belleville, small galleries like Sultana or Lily Roberts, and artist residency spaces like Le Consulat Voltaire or Poush Manifesto (a bit outside of Paris but worth the trip).
Outside of art, the best things to do in Paris according to me are Les Puces de Saint-Ouen (huge flea market opened on weekends and Mondays), if the weather allows it walk by the Canal Saint Martin or in les Buttes Chaumont, the Musรฉe des Catacombes is worth seeing although quite small, or Musรฉe de La Chasse et de La Nature, a weird little museum in Marais.
