LOST: Cow Going Abstract - Roy Lichtenstein Alinari 213/450, by troika49 on Oct 14, 2021 6:32:56 GMT 1, I originally bought a complete Cow Triptych (Cow Going Abstract) 1982 by Roy Lichtenstein published by Alinari from another member on these forums. They can identify themselves if they wish.
It was lost and/or stolen in transit and could not be recovered. If you spot edition 213/450 for sale please notify your local authorities, return it to UPS (quoting: 1ZZPT842DG20014818) or drop me a message.
The images looks like: Left Panel Center Panel Right Panel
The ordeal was a nightmare taking nearly a year to get any compensation from UPS. I can only talk about it now:
- Package was originally sent on 29 October 2020 by member
- Transited through Germany
- Transited through USA
- Inexplicably released (including customs clearance) for delivery in the USA (USA wasn't even the final destination country)
- Delivered and signed by Manuel at MICHAEL ANGELO WAY AUSTIN TX 78728, USA on 9 November 2020 12:12PM (PM me to discuss exact address)
- Signature does not match Manuel at all (PM me to discuss)
- UPS told me it couldn't be recovered as it was "a large warehouse building with several businesses located there."
- We told UPS on 10 November 2020 and it went nowhere with no sense of urgency. Package was never recovered.
I have nothing but praise for the member who sold me this item. They tried to help me every step of the way but it was just a bad situation. UPS was incredibly difficult and if any member is in the same situation please PM me and I would be more than happy to help.
Finally here are photos of the left panel of the actual item for reference. There are also feint raking lines behind the cow in the yellow foreground if photographed from a side angle:
I have more photos and details but will keep them private in case more comes to light.

LOST: Cow Going Abstract - Roy Lichtenstein Alinari 213/450, by viz on Oct 14, 2021 13:19:22 GMT 1, I was the seller here, thanks troika49 for the kind words. We both did everything we could (and even more!) to get the prints back or at least to get a clear picture of what happened.
UPS was very far from being transparent with us even if the fault was evidently all on them.
Although I understand that "unfortunate" cases can happen when dealing with millions of packages and, even if it should not, a package can be delivered to the wrong place or get lost (but this one was a big big package which cannot just fall off a cart).... the point here is the package was delivered to the wrong person, in the wrong city, the wrong country and the wrong continent, and even went through customs!!! From a statistical point of view this is very very very unlikely to happen. Actually I would say impossible if it hadn't happened. Everyone can draw their own conclusions.
UPS never made clear how this happened and never took responsibility for such a huge mistake(?).
troika49 I suggest to post a link to this thread in the thread dedicated to bad experiences had with UPS (and there seem to be many) and also change the title to make clear which carrier was used and "lost" the package, so to make it easier to find in searches.

Not good at all
Sounds like human error and maybe someone at one of the hubs has put the wrong barcode label on
I have had this a few times with my business. Had stuff from Germany turn up that should have been delivered to a completely different business in Italy etc
