I have a couple of payment cards stored on there that I have used for buying over the last few months but have not yet added a bank account. I was curious this morning to see what would happen if I tried to trade my coins for cash but when I tried a message popped up to say my account doesnโt qualify to hold a cash balance. Anyone have any insight on this?

Coinbase users, by iamzero on Nov 7, 2021 15:34:17 GMT 1, Most of my investment is on Uphold and Ledger for the long term but have some on Coinbase as a bit of a gamble that has paid off quite well so far but was curious to see how quick I could realise profit if a coin spiked dramatically. Looks like I could add PayPal as a withdrawal method but it just feels odd that I canโt trade a coins profit to GBP and keep it on the exchange. Not particularly worried about the HMRC, if tax is due I have no choice but to pay.

Coinbase users, by phb on Nov 7, 2021 15:48:37 GMT 1, Try using Coinbase Pro. It has the same log in details as Your Coinbase account. I have personally never had the problem that you described, but someone I work with (a relatively new user) had the same issue. When he transferred his coins to his Coinbase Pro account it worked fine. To be honest, you should be using Coinbase Pro anyway as the fees are so much less!

Paid ยฃ8.95 in crypto and was charged about the same again in fees. At least highway men were recognisable. We have a robin hood broker, perhaps coinbase should rebrand as dick turpin.

I have issues with Coinbase so don't use them anymore, FTX seems much better.
I would set up an FTX account and transfer your crypto over there, assuming the transfer fees work out.
Even if you are using Coinbase, only ever use Coinbase Pro, never the regular version.

I've got a ledger, no issues and simple to use. You can usually get a discount code too.

My long term stuff is split between the Uphold exchange and a chunk I moved off there to the Ledger cold storage.
