Sunflowers @ Christie’s , by kfroms on Nov 10, 2021 8:26:38 GMT 1, Paul Smith should be happy. And the guarantor has a mediocre painting at a high price on his hands. I guess the estimate was too aggressive for this to attract proper bids.

Sunflowers @ Christie’s , by skinback on Nov 10, 2021 10:54:05 GMT 1, I think whoever set the estimate for this work needs their head examined. I think it's a good work that found a price higher than I was expecting.

Sunflowers @ Christie’s , by Pootle on Nov 10, 2021 11:29:35 GMT 1, I thought it was a good result - Christie’s does tend to have higher estimates vs sothebys
The image has enough crossover appeal for people familiar with the original which would attract bidders
I personally like that work

Sunflowers @ Christie’s , by pollz66 on Nov 11, 2021 14:45:57 GMT 1, I believe the Crude Oils paintings were originally sold for around £10k, so not a bad investment .
At £10.7 million that's £3.2 million more than Show Me The Monet which I think is a better painting.

The Sunflowers From Petrol Station piece was also much smaller than Show Me The Monet, about half the size.
