Damaged Harland Miller, by nickcal on Dec 13, 2021 20:08:46 GMT 1, Hello Friends,
I recently purchased a Harland Miller Heroin print from a pleasant seller here. It was described as no flaws, framed archivally. It was removed from the frame and shipped flat from EU -> USA. He covered shipping and I agreed to cover the price of it being refloated as there was some waviness to it. Upon receipt it is in much worse condition than expected. It has scuff marks, pencil of the edition number is smudged, some creasing and taped to the backing board, not archival at all.
With it being not as described, would you return it? Go through with the restoration at my own expense? Have the seller cover it? How much would it hurt value in the future, like 10-20% or possibly more?
I purchased it because I rather like the print and planned to hang it up. It would be roughly around the same price as the one available at Lougher if I paid for the restoration. Just don't want to have overpaid, or lose out if I go to upgrade in the future.
Thank you for all of the help and expertise!

Damaged Harland Miller, by Charlie Bronson on Dec 14, 2021 19:19:10 GMT 1, 100% you should return it. Every time you look at it youโll question your decision of keeping it, and youโll have that feeling of doubt as opposed to a feeling of joy, which is what youโre supposed to get from it. The fact that the seller wasnโt completely transparent about the condition is fโd up tbh.
