I’m the lucky winner of the INVADER giveaways. Crazy - thanks to all involved people! Surprise - I never win otherwise ^^ Now the member "streetarted2020" informed me that I had won and asked for my shipping address. I answered him and a day later he wrote me that the package has already been sent. I got the tracking number and an invoice for shipping. I should pay $ 257.38. wow... Now my question. Do you also think that such an invoice amount should be agreed upon together before starting the shipping process? I‘m agree to cover shipping - but it have to be realistic pls. Maybe I’m a bit oldschool, but in this situation I would have cleared that up with the „winner“ beforehand. I reckoned for shipping with maybe $ 60 or maximum 100 or so… but over $ 250.00 +fees/tax is a bit crazy for a showposter+ sticker. He says also he have already pre paid $250.00 for a return trip and if i don't accept the package he has paid total $ 500.00 include the return!! That’s almost unbelievable. He sent me an bill and it looks serious at first glance. The main problem in this discussion is that he didn't ask before sending it… damn. Only fyi - If I ship to LA with this package dimensions I pay $ 65 UPS delivery within 72 hours, insured up to $500. Really, I don't want to be ungrateful, but this process bothers me (!) and if that's always the case, I don't want to win anymore please. I feel fooled and at the same time I have a bad conscience if he really paid that price. Absolutely strange „winner“ situation I have never had... Hey urbangermany just accept the package and I will cover the shipping cost. I want you to have the prize. Sorry about all this mess.

Crazy shit, but otherwise maybe life would be very boring.. u coulda added a couple bucks n bought ur own off ebay, 90$ gets u most of the way there…. n i’m aware OP originally said he’d charge shipping but i’ve done over a dozen giveaways on insta n other forums, i’ve never charged shipping, defeats the actual purpose of winning something imo, as a “win” don’t have no strings attached, it’s free, u won it, having 2 pay or even do anything above opening ur mailbox 2 get ur prize takes away the fun & the meaning of a giveaway…. but hey, what do i know? 
Yeah Matt, you are of course not wrong.
For me that‘s the absolute maximum shipping cost I would pay for a good end of this story.
I know it’s really not the best deal but at least I don't want to leave Streetarted alone with this history. Others probably wouldn't do that, but I'm not the others.

So odd. Which service do you use? I use express worldwide and stuff gets there within a couple of days normally. I sent something the other day with UPS that I dropped off at 1pm here in the UK and it was delivered before 12 noon in New York the next day.
With Germany I do experience a lot of delays going through their customs processing. Does the tracking say its there? If so they might be getting hold of UrbanGermany and asking them to pay import taxes and fees depending on what value you declared it at.

I don't mind paying 9% on art import on a $100 item. Which is $9....
They also charge you $19 on fees....making a total of $28.
On a $1000 item it's less of an issue.
But anything above Euro 22 gets taxed - with the same fees.
