I've looked a quite a few on ebay over the last few weeks and have noticed quite varying prices - I was wondering if this is because there was comissioned copies of the original print(s) that would fetch a lower price that an original 
Also would I be wise in getting full COA for this kind of print or buy direct from a gallery?
Any advice is greatly appreciated

I would think going with a gallery would be the safest way to go With such an Iconic image like that you could find loads of dodgy pieces about But if all you after is the basic image maybe a good quality poster of it framed up would do the job? ;D Just an idea! ;D

Yeah, I was thinking that could be the best bet...although if one of these were to pop up with a COA from a private seller, you would assume this to be legit I mean, is there really that many dodgy ones floating around....

Variances on these prints crop up in nearly every contemporary art sale run by Bonhams, Christies, Sotherbys etc so if I were you I would wait for one of those.

just from having a quick scout around in the last few mins it looks like ยฃ1000 would be about as cheap as you;d get from the original print run
