Someone on here from Stamford, UK wherever that is. Quite an easy cancellation. Looks like it’s sold now!

Ai Weiwei - Treadmill edition, by Lord Lucas Roham on Feb 9, 2022 9:29:28 GMT 1, Yeah, these will fly.
It's a decent 3k or 4k print for £500.
Buy of the year so far IMO.

Conceptually much deeper/interesting with historical significance but I just find it a rather ugly image.

Totally agree, knowing the historical significance is a must with this one, and I would say with many others artworks from lots of artists.

Ai Weiwei - Treadmill edition, by Jaylove on Feb 9, 2022 14:41:12 GMT 1, Yeah, these will fly. It's a decent 3k or 4k print for £500. Buy of the year so far IMO. This is the psychology of buying now. It’s not the actual piece and whether you like it or where you will hang it. It’s strictly dollars and cents. I do the same thing so it’s not a knock. But helps understand why things get sold out in an instant while some sit for years.

Ai Weiwei - Treadmill edition, by orchid on Feb 9, 2022 14:47:20 GMT 1, 3-4k lol🤣🤣🤣. Possibly double if that. One for the Kitsch market
Big edition, small image, not one of his known images or motifs.
For 4k you can pick up x2 signed bomb prints from Kitchen secondary, or a couple of tree sculptures with change, or a finger sculpture & several other stronger works. His editions simply don't perform as well on secondary too, they're not attractive investments in that sense

I agree with you that 3-4 is excessive. But these prints are better than you suggest imo. Screen prints. Attractive image. I don’t think 150 (each) is a big edition for an artist of his fame. Plus extremely keenly priced at £500 including conservation framing. Generally speaking it is a shame that discussions of art these days are mostly about value (the irony that I have in part joined that discussion does not escape me).

Ai Weiwei - Treadmill edition, by chuckle on Feb 9, 2022 15:13:34 GMT 1, The nature of Ai Weiwei's art means that his editions can cover uncompromising themes. Not everyone can easily display bombs, swearing etc.. at home. I think that is partly why his editions don't always do as well as you might expect at auction. I love this little print, it is something a bit softer and easier to live with.

Ai Weiwei - Treadmill edition, by Ravnur 2020 on Feb 9, 2022 16:32:46 GMT 1, Had a chat with Kettles Yard about something else, but they said they will try and get the prints shipped before the end of the week. I think they were a bit taken aback by the feeding frenzy
Saw this article about the exhibition on the Guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2022/feb/06/ai-weiwei-i-am-like-a-cat-cats-can-play-for-a-whole-day)
Given that Ai Weiwei considers himself like a cat can this print motif be considered a self portrait of the artist?

Ai Weiwei - Treadmill edition, by Dibbs 45 on Feb 9, 2022 16:44:14 GMT 1, It's rare to get a signed screen printed work, framed by one of the biggest artists there is, for a bargain price. Probably the buy of the year and wall friendly.

Ai Weiwei - Treadmill edition, by Lord Lucas Roham on Feb 9, 2022 19:23:22 GMT 1, I like this image. It's not particularly outstanding but it's pleasant. I'll be hanging it that's for sure.
In terms of value It's a bargain. £500 is nothing for a signed edition from one of the most well-known artists alive today. Commercially Ai Wei Wei isn't KAWS but I don't think anyone can challenge his credentials.
Like I mentioned earlier I was literally about to spend 4.3k on that KAWS print when this cropped up so it makes it all the sweeter.
