Banksy is Batman he is not Robin.
The more important question I want to know is who are you?
When you look in the mirror are you a hero, a villain, an asshole - or just a casual observer?
Super heroes as well as super villains exist in this world we live in today, although itโs not always clear who is who. About two decades ago in a small community in the city of Los Angeles called Silver Lake, a tiny gallery / bookstore was having an art show of a few thrift store paintings hung on display with army choppers and primates stenciled over them. I thought they were hilarious, but I sure as hell wasnโt going to pay the asking price of $200; I would rather just make my own (and I did). Time went on, none of the pieces had sold and the shop owner seemed a little desperate, so I used my Korean negotiation skills to talk him down to $50; although, even at $50 I felt a little cheated buying stencil art, but back then, as a starving artist myself, I was always open to supporting other starving artists so I felt good about that part. I asked who the artist was, and he said it was a fellow from across the pond in the UK who goes by the name Bank-Ski, and he was across the street. I said oh cool and went across the street and met a delightful young dark skinned chap with a slight Arabic accent, that was excited about his first art show in America, but also didnโt care much that he hadnโt sold anything and cared more about changing the environment and waking people the f**k up. The shop owner had mispronounced his name, it wasnโt Bank-ski โ it was Banksy, and that would be the last time I would meet him until 10 years later with a red elephant but thatโs a whole different story; He gave me a cardboard cutout stencil of a rat with a bazooka , I loved it so much I spray painted it all over koreatown until the stencil fell apart, as I looked back and realized, oh s**t Iโm a Banksy! the stenciled thrift store painting which I purchased for $50 still hangs in my bathroom and is estimated at $500,000 today....."

This whole study seems to be a totally pointless exercise
Was at a gig in Bristol couple of months ago and some guy there told the American singer that he was himself indeed Banksy. The band thought it funny and admitted how much they enjoyed his work - that's kind of the point, just enjoy what there is to see as at the end of the day does it matter who made it

It seems that they do not have to prove one way or other how accurate their research is. They probably get funding or make money from it. So if it turns out their research and identity proving are wrong. Would they have egg on their face and lose credibility?

โSo I was walking home from work late last night and I was watching a street artist doing a piece in hosier lane. I double backed and pulled out my phone as he was finishing up. Canโt believe I just met Banksy!โ Mia says under the video.
A man loitering around the mural on Wednesday morning was sure it was a bona fide Banksy.
โItโs definitely an original as Banksy is in Melbourne,โ a passer-by in Hosier Lane said this morning.
Banksy is famous for painting rats, and perhaps thereโs a whiff of rat in the air with a video of Banksy surfacing just two days out from the opening of The Art of Banksy exhibition at Federation Square.

I am an ex-school mate of Robin Gunningham at Bristol Cathedral School and I have some old A4 school magazines that feature his art.
They are a small cartoon strip (1/6 page) that he did in year 1, a line drawing (1/2 page) he did in year 3 and a full page cartoon he did in year 4.
I would really appreciate advice on whether these would likely be worth anything cos I could do with the cash!
I tried to upload photos to show what I have but kept getting errors however I will try again if anyone wants me to.

The photos should now be attached. I'd love to say the art was incredible or was a precursor to a later work. I'll leave that up to you! They certainly might be interesting!
