LACMA and Interscope records - what is your opinion?, by dullahmo on Jan 26, 2022 11:40:47 GMT 1, Money grab or genuine art / art investment?
I'm in love with the Dr. DRE album art design by Kehinde but $2.5k is STEEP. I would only really consider buying it for that price if I could sell it on for break even at the minimum including fees.
I'm really torn.
What are your thoughts?

'should I buy this to flip' ๐
Unsigned, giclee Garbage. Even the Blue-chip names, this feels too expensive. Also, they'll be botted anyway.

LACMA and Interscope records - what is your opinion?, by George Poppit on Jan 26, 2022 12:01:01 GMT 1, The project is to raise money for charity - forum members showing their true true colours. Zero interest in the art just about how to make quick money.

Zero interest in the art just about how to make quick money. Ha, agreed. I posted about the project at LACMA 10 days ago and you were the only one who posted about the actual art. No one gave a sh*t. Now, they've announced the editions and there's multiple threads analyzing the flip value. These aren't going to be for everybody but if you can match a personal favourite visual artist with a personal favourite musician - what more could you ask for as a collector?
The money is going towards building a school in South LA.

LACMA and Interscope records - what is your opinion?, by Couch Tado on Jan 26, 2022 16:45:00 GMT 1, Do you think theyโre really all hand signed? I have this feeling that the signature is a scan - how could Mathew Wong have signed? If it was a hand signed Ed Ruscha for $2500 that is a great deal. Iโd love a signed Adam Pendleton, but he hasnโt posted about it. Youโd think at least one of these artists would have posted a video or instagram of them actually signing them.

I'm really torn. What are your thoughts? None of it is art and only for people late to the party who will settle for scraps. It's for autograph chasers. You might as well save your money and buy a real painting and get the unsigned album when they release those.
That being said, history has shown that you can probably buy some of these and find some other fomo suckers to pay more if that's your thing.
