Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by sevrin on Feb 7, 2022 20:32:11 GMT 1, I spoke to one of the gallery staff in regards to the glitter, as when you look from the side you can see it is raised above the butterfly wings, she told me it was the last process to be done when making the print and it is sealed when it is applied so will not rub off easily

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Deleted on Feb 7, 2022 20:38:45 GMT 1, Hi Guys On another note, I visited the Heni Gallery today to take a look at the The print I chose: H10-4 Suiko, I must say the pictures do not do them justice, they are truly stunning in person! I chose Suiko because to me it just instantly said DH, I have always been a fan of his butterfly works, and the symmetry in this one is just perfect, I also liked it was named after the first female to rule Japan. For anyone that has purchased one of these I'm sure you will not be disappointed, I know I wasn't! personally I can't wait to hang it on my wall, probably framed in a black box frame with white float mount, but I will see when it arrives. Nice!
They do look great don't they
Did you see the blue ones (series 6) and the Blossoms while you were there? I thought the Empresses really popped. I wasn't sure about the glitter until I saw them and when looking over at the blue ones just looked so much better to me, and I have one of them

Any others that you like? Or only the one you own...
There'll be plenty on sale, so you'll just have to buckle up.
You need to have a drink and perhaps take a few deep breaths.

The blue set at Heni which are not as nice as the red are for sale at £195000 so pretty sure these guys are right about price dropping below retail. We done to everyone who took the plunge

I think both will look great framed and on the wall next to each other.

Yes, there's a few different framing options that I think will work really well with these. Some of the framing that I've seen people post for The Virtues looks great. I'm thinking something similar with these, though with a black frame.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by vernaxley on Feb 8, 2022 13:53:39 GMT 1, There is zero guarantee of getting what you paid back on secondary, even for Hirst. The more artworks/NFTs produced in this run, the lower the real value. If people are buying to flip - which they are - the value will depreciate even quicker. This whole thread is a pump and dump. It is true I am guessing; as you are. But my guess is based on past releases and past sales. If you are aware of any of his prints (by Heni or anybody else) that sell for below retail, then please do let me know. lf you can't find any, then I would suggest that my guess will probably be correct. Basic supply + demand economics. The more you produce, the cheaper it becomes. Add in flippers selling too quickly + amateur investors who will panic when the price drops and you have a very unstable art market. And Hirst's print market is already saturated.

DH market is far from saturated! Investing in DH is pretty much as safe as it gets IMO. Whatever people's reason for buying Empress, they will ALWAYS make a profit if/when they decide to sell it on.
Damien Hirst ✔️ Signed ✔️ Limited numbers ✔️ Butterflies ✔️ Glitter ✔️
That's a recipe for success if ever I've seen one!
Anyone selling at cost or below, hit me up

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by vernaxley on Feb 8, 2022 14:00:58 GMT 1, Many flippers going to be disappointed. You are wrong LLR - ignore Virtues if you like, although that was heavily flipped. Look at the NHS charity prints, they were bought by flippers and increased many times in value, despite large edition sizes. Even Fruitful and Forever proved as good investments, and they were not great images. Everyone who wants to turn a profit is GURANTEED to do so - and those that wish to hang a 1m x 1m signed Damien Hirst on there wall can do so, and at just over £3k that's a bargain in anyones book! After his Beautiful Inside My Head auction at Sotheby's, 17 of the 19 Hirst works depreciated in value.

Is it a Photoshoped image printed out with glitter mixed into the plastic covering? I doubt they created these as originals and photographed them... So almost certainly photoshopped from just a few butterflies. Giclee printed, then screen printed glitter (not sure how that's done.... more like screen printed glue, then glittered, I think), then laminated.

Could this type of white frame work with the red expresses?

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Art Lover Number 9 on Feb 8, 2022 14:40:13 GMT 1, This is my first post here. I was studying fine art at Camberwell School of Art at the same time Damien Hirst was at Goldsmiths, a mile or so up the road and so I've always vaguely followed his career. I've bought a couple of art pieces before, a painting from an auction house and a stencil by a graffiti artist but I've never bought a print before. I almost bought a Banksy Grin Reaper ( for £6000) a few years ago but was talked out of it. Grin Reapers are now worth a bit more... Anyway, I've got a bit of spare cash and so I was looking through various online auction houses etc to see what was around. I looked up Damien Hirst, found the Empresses (with a day to spare before the deadline) and I loved what I saw. More than most of Hirst's other prints, to be honest. I liked all the images, particularly 2, 3 and 4. I settled on No.2 Nur Jahan and purchased a physical copy with minutes to go before the end of availability. I'm not a flipper, I just wanted some quality art that I can hang on my wall and that might possibly increase in value over time. If it does, great, if it doesn't, never mind. I can't wait to get it home, framed and on my wall. Well done to anyone else who bought one, I think they're all stunning.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by sevrin on Feb 8, 2022 14:48:32 GMT 1, Could this type of white frame work with the red expresses?
This one works really well with a white frame and white shadow mount, so maybe would the Empresses.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by handy on Feb 8, 2022 14:53:49 GMT 1, This is my first post here. Well done to anyone else who bought one, I think they're all stunning. great and refreshing first post!

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Arty Farty 15 on Feb 8, 2022 15:11:09 GMT 1, Could this type of white frame work with the red expresses? This one works really well with a white frame and white shadow mount, so maybe would the Empresses.
