If Heni/Hirst were to let these bomb on the secondary market, it would kill all interest in the next release stone dead. Can’t see them letting that happen personally.

My prediction is 2-4000 of each. And i also think even if there was 5000 of each, these will defo be worth more than people think. They are quality and quality wins every time.

There is zero guarantee of getting what you paid back on secondary, even for Hirst. The more artworks/NFTs produced in this run, the lower the real value. If people are buying to flip - which they are - the value will depreciate even quicker. This whole thread is a pump and dump.

Totally disagree - you are 100% guaranteed to get your money back and make a profit on the Hirst Heni editions. Whether the edition size be 5000 or 15000. Even his less popular images will turn you a profit, these are far from the worst!

These are good long term holds, ignore the feeding frenzy now and sit tight - it was exactly the same with the Virtues!

You are wrong LLR - ignore Virtues if you like, although that was heavily flipped. Look at the NHS charity prints, they were bought by flippers and increased many times in value, despite large edition sizes. Even Fruitful and Forever proved as good investments, and they were not great images.

Everyone who wants to turn a profit is GURANTEED to do so - and those that wish to hang a 1m x 1m signed Damien Hirst on there wall can do so, and at just over £3k that's a bargain in anyones book!

The choice of colour with these 5 prints is only fitting - I would say DH is consciously working within a tradition. The red is obviously derived from the purple dye that was exclusive to various imperial houses: I am particularly thinking of the Roman and Byzantine Emperors and their families (I could not speak of non-European dynasties). But from these models purple especially, but also red has maintained its connotation of imperial grandeur, power, wealth ...

Anyone know when The Empresses NFT’s will be minted and live on the Heni marketplace? I forget what Heni had said about this…. ?

The fact that The Empresses will be edition prints that also exist as exchangeable NFT’s is yet another variable experiment leading on from The Currency which as somewhat unique (NFT v Physical) painted pieces proved lucrative as NFT’s. My wild (easily could be wrong) guess with The Currency is the physicals will reign supreme in value over time once the exchange deadline is up.

You have to hand it to Heni - the concept of exchangeable NFT’s that can be NFT’s or exchanged for physical pieces over a 3 year window is pretty genius as it gives collectors flexibility. Not everyone wants to hang a work at time of purchase and some may never want to hang. That’s the very premise of art collecting.

Remembering the circus around The Currency NFT’s pricing last year makes for an interesting period when The Empresses hit the NFT second market. The edition sizes are going to be very interesting in how that unfolds.
The comment about The Virtues being more wall friendly / desirable than The Empresses, I think is really inaccurate.  I have a friend who hung two of The Virtues and whilst I like the imagery, I personally was a bit put off by the high gloss finish. I found them more beautiful as paintings.

Excited for all The Empresses buyers awaiting their prints. If you have the right space, these are cool pieces.
