For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by alibertine on Feb 2, 2022 8:18:54 GMT 1, I bought a block once, split it into 2, dj'ed in a shed all night, and called it my den. Who won, who lost, metas the verse, let the kids ave it, well all be dead at last. They they'll recreate my shed, and make it sing, nick drakes a lover again And then there'll be cusps and jibs to jibe amongst his mind, so riddled with sparks the plummers can't put it out, gushing he'll come back into our life Us oldies will have to rely on our brain and like Damien were blessed. God heart. And speedy fingers. A Justin Pollock for me, less Neate. But each to their own. Cant afford but if i had the money boys she's a keeper, stick gloves on her and feel her tipper.

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by flingading on Feb 2, 2022 9:17:14 GMT 1, From my experience on this forum I've found that sales threads tend to get derailed if members feel like the price may be unfair or unjust. This is normally just down to people taking pleasure in talking other peoples prices down, but I hope a small percentage is actually down to people wanting to protect other members from overpaying for an item.
This is a touch example because the item being sold for £18k is a physical copy where as the comparison item available for £10k is still a NFT.
If you were to buy the NFT yourself you would likely lose a few hundred £ in fees for exchanging your money, would likely have to wait a few weeks to exchange your NFT for the physical copy and then potentially arrange a trip to London to pick up the piece. That being said it would cost you considerably less than £1000 to do all these things.
The OP is well within his right to list his item for what he likes but it would seem a touch ambitious to expect to be paid £7-£8k for these services.
If someone was to list another print for sale that was still available on the secondary for almost 50% of the price I would be a bit concerned if the community didn't make any potential buyers aware that this was the case.

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by Elvis to Pete on Feb 2, 2022 9:58:41 GMT 1, Based in Ayrshire, UK. Only looking for cash, no trades. Payment by bank transfer. Buyer can collect or arrange shipping. This is the actual painting, the NFT has been burned. ______________________________________ Damien Hirst #8426 ‘Out of fear’ from Hirst’s ongoing project ‘The Currency’ Dimensions: 20cm x 30cm Medium: One Shot Enamel Paint on Hand Made Paper 2016 Signed on reverse Hirst Watermark, Micro Dot and Hologram I am the original owner and have all invoice emails from HENI. Price: £18,000_________________________________ Damien Hirst’s spot paintings remain one of the most recognizable motifs in contemporary art, known for their perfect circles in a grid format. Since its first iteration in 1986, the series has seen many variations, but it wasn’t until 2016 that Hirst dispensed the rules for his Colour Space paintings, and allowed the work to become more organic. The works of The Currency evolved from this exploration, with the spots appearing like particles or atoms. ANTI-COUNTERFEITING Similar to other forms of currency, anti-counterfeiting measures are employed to ensure authenticity. Each work of The Currency has several measures that safeguard the authenticity. The paper is hand made and is cut manually, producing spontaneous imperfections and asymmetries. Each unique artwork is numbered, titled, stamped with the Hirst logo and signed by the artist on the back. Additional authenticity features include a watermark, as well as a microdot and a hologram containing a portrait of the artist. I remember when cash meant cash.. those were the days!

The problem is that you're selling to a very narrow market (at least on here.) Those who want a physical copy but presumably are wary of entering the NFT world in order to buy one. You're then effectively charging them the £8k for doing just that.

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by JockoLad on Feb 2, 2022 17:34:43 GMT 1, Just to show that I am not completely unreasonable, here is the link to my eBay listing: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125121530587
Note that it is possible to make offers. My initial ask was intended to generate an opportunity to haggle.
I have had a number of really decent offers (5 figures) however have a set price that I will let it go for.
If interested, get in touch.

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by cc13 on Feb 2, 2022 17:56:07 GMT 1, I think this looks a really nice example compared to some of those ones available at the lowest end of the pricing spectrum. Interesting there’s been no chat on this piece’s individual attributes (which Heni have made such a thing of) and it’s all about how much you can buy the cheapest NFT in the world for.

I could talk about the individual traits if required.
It has a very high number of overlapping spots, is in the top 0.1% for reds and also extremely high in yellows and greens.
You can actually notice a difference between those that are more and less saturated. Equally, the colour concentrations make a difference to the aesthetic also.
It’s also one of the heavier paintings, whatever that means.

Assuming that’s directed at me, it was just an observation at the rather “bargain hunt”-esque comparative approach to something that is not a homogenous product. Each of these pieces is unique. When I was thinking about picking one up previously, those at the lower end of the pricing spectrum on the Heni market place were a bit, well… shite. I’m not supporting the OPs pricing position, and I’m not sure where I’ve suggested it is “soooo much more beautiful”, I’m simply pointing out there’s a bit more to be considered with these than just picking up any old example for the bare minimum price, if you’re at all bothered about the actual art that is.

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by sean1397 on Feb 3, 2022 1:51:30 GMT 1, So let me make sure I have this straight just so I am not a moron.
One can buy an NFT and trade this NFT with Heni or someone for a physical artwork And people here are arguing that the physical art work is worth more than the NFT cause people don't want to use cryptocurrency?
I think I'd rather buy and use cryptocurrency than send a wire around the world
Anyways is that the gist of it?
Anyways if this is the gist of it and the NFTs are available for 10kI am certain I can find people very happy to provide this exchange service for about 2k.
Most importantly where can I buy these NFTs and how long can you exchange them for? Thanks

Anyways if this is the gist of it and the NFTs are available for 10kI am certain I can find people very happy to provide this exchange service for about 2k. Most importantly where can I buy these NFTs and how long can you exchange them for? Thanks Yes, one can buy an NFT and trade this NFT with HENI for the physical. e.g. purchase via Opensea marketplace: opensea.io/collection/thecurrency ; currency.nft.heni.com/marketplace?sort=price&order=asc
You can buy the NFT and trade it up for the physical yourself for around 10k GBP. It involves a bit of messing about with crypto. Plenty of forum members who have dived into the crypto and NFT world recently (e.g. for art drops). It can be a bit crazy to begin with but it's not rocket science to purchase this NFT and follow the HENI website to get the physical sorted.
For more info I suggest you join the HENI Discord / Currency community. You can ask questions to the HENI team etc : discord.com/invite/HENI
The owner of a Hirst NFT can redeem the Hirst NFT and withdraw the corresponding Artwork from the Vault during a fixed time period ending at 3pm British Summer Time, 27th July 2022. From here: currency.nft.heni.com/terms-of-service-currency

Normally Id say only a nut wouldn't withdraw, but in this world the NFT will prob be worth millions in a few years after most are traded... Thank you for the explanation.

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by sean1397 on Feb 5, 2022 9:36:31 GMT 1, Also thank you for explaining.
There is probably some marginal value for someone afraid of NFTS and crypto or in a hurry for a real world work. Someone may also really fall in love with one image. What that value is is up to anyone to decide for themselves.
But to say the value of the physical is not linked to the value of the NFT makes no sense. IF the NFT falls or rises a large amount the print is sure to trade with it.

Thanks - what are they gonna do with the unwithdrawn works? Toss them? Burn them? For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by JockoLad on Feb 5, 2022 10:35:57 GMT 1, Also thank you for explaining.
There is a point to this.
Titles appear to command a higher premium.
Heading toward Valentine’s Day there is always a rush across the art world to buy ‘love’ related works for example.
Swear words and one word titles appear to be more in demand.

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by JockoLad on Feb 7, 2022 7:58:36 GMT 1, With the recently released Hirst Empresses signed, sparkly, and shiny colour photocopies hitting eBay for £8k minimum…🤦…I am still open to offers on my Hirst ‘original’ work that I have available for sale.
I would happily create an NFT to go along with it and provide the purchaser the option of three years to decide if they want to claim the original from me or simply ask that I resell it and send it to the new owner.
I might even consider chucking in a Hirst umbrella for free if that would seal the deal.

You are using Hirst Empresse ebay listings of £8k minimum to position your pricing of 18k GBP (open to offers). While apparently ignoring the NFT Currency floor and average sale price data.
It seems nonsense (or 'utterly nonsense' as someone just said in Empress thread) to take the ebay prices as reliable indicators. At least wait until the edition number is known and more is known about their value on secondary market. Maybe only a few days to wait...

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by Lord Lucas Roham on Feb 7, 2022 14:05:18 GMT 1, Stop quoting eBay auction prices. They only mean that some mug is delusional to list for a high price.
Does my head in. They mean NOTHING.

Agreed
130point.com
Suggests only one has sold on eBay and it was for £13k in December for reference.

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 ‘Out of fear’, by sean1397 on Feb 8, 2022 2:49:38 GMT 1, Clearly no one is going to buy this for 18k. Maybe it's worth 10% more than the trading value of the NFT. Call it 11-12k
Or maybe it is actually worth less than the NFT. It's possible the NFTs could soar in value before the trade in date so it's really hard to say whether the physical or the NFT is worth more, but they are clearly linked and the idea that one is worth 50-100% more than the other is crazy
