I challenge anyone in investing to find me something better than that over the space of 10 to 15 years.
While I appreciate that ยฃ1m is good for the mega rich, the margins I have on my meagre investments in art (completely unexpected as a bonus) are simply incredible.

On the other side, a lot of 'investors' on here were crowing about Oli Epp and Pejac, but look at them now. You can get some of their prints at or below cost. (They may well rise again and I'm not slagging either - I have an Epp worth exactly what I paid and I don't want to get rid of it).
When you're talking about the kind of artists discussed on here, i.e. not the real big guns (Banksy aside), it's a crap shoot. So may as well buy what you like. If you have investment in mind, take a chance on inexpensive, unknown artists you like. I bought Mark Drews at ยฃ30 each when they were easy to buy direct, because I liked him. They're all worth loads more now. But I'll never sell the most valuable because I love them.

Probably the best investment you could have made in the last couple of years would be spending ยฃ100 on Peckham Rocks. But if anyone told you that at the time you wouldn't believe them (search the Peckham Rock thread for evidence). On the other side, a lot of 'investors' on here were crowing about Oli Epp and Pejac, but look at them now. You can get some of their prints at or below cost. With current interest rate at 0,1% at a bank account you would have had to put ยฃ1.99 in the bank at the time they were building the pyramids to get the same return as to buy a Peckham Rock at source 2 years ago.... |

Have both seen significant jumps in auction prices recently. Nothing like what Banksy, Invader, Hirst, Kaws, etc. are doing, but slow but steady rise. And prints are probably still in average folk's price range. Not sure they're "investment" quality, but you never know who's got legs. Brantley is starting to get a lot of corporate notice.

If people truly believed this they would all just buy decorative pieces and replicas to hang on their wall. If youre going to spend thousands (or in some cases millions) of pounds on something, itโs as asset and unless you have money to burn, you should consider its investment merits. To answer the OPs question it is a gamble trying to guess the artist which is going to leap up in value. Iโve given up trying to guess which fresh emerging artists will make it big and try and look at mid career or established artists (who have some secondary sales under their belt) which look under valued, my money is on Katherine Bradford, Mel Bochner (selected worlds), Jonathan Lyndon Chase, Richard Mudariki and Guy Yanai. You know nothing about the art world. I would immediately pay 100k for a work (even if it is worth less) if I liked it, but I wouldn't hang a reproduction on my wall, has nothing to do with art. Don't think that the collectors on Instagram and in the forums will make out the collectors and regulate the market price, that will be a rude awakening.

Art should be considered because you love the piece no matter who the artist and want it on the wall. Not some list posted here or on Instagram. I buy emerging artists (Im not going to list them) because I like the work and enjoy looking at it on the wall. Buy something you can enjoy, not something to stick under the bed hoping it'll go up in value. Most likely it wont.

Art should be considered because you love the piece no matter who the artist and want it on the wall. Not some list posted here or on Instagram. I buy emerging artists (Im not going to list them) because I like the work and enjoy looking at it on the wall. Buy something you can enjoy, not something to stick under the bed hoping it'll go up in value. Most likely it wont. Name the emerging artists ?other members could be interested ?or protecting your investments?!๐๐ |

Banksy if you can afford it but even the entry level Peckham rock is a good place as that has the pest control and very hard to fake unlike the countless banksy tenners that surface on a well known auction site unless laz letter of authority. There are many entry level pieces that have come on to the Market over the years. The Tracey emin napkins were 50 pounds each (maximum 2 each) from her website in 2013 now over three grand each. Don't furnish flippers hands try and buy from source and over time trade up. Timing is everything.

They were 20 pounds from book depository a year ago now about ninety pounds. To my understanding their are very few signed stick big issue posters and the signed books have a Foyle's signed sticker on. Very easy to forge sticks signature on a poster with book. Just saying be careful like the banksy tenners out there.
Not all of the genuine signed books have the signed sticker. I have two that are genuine without the sticker. They might have been the ones available on the signing night, but can't remember now.
