Visit NEW YORK ๐บ๐ฒ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by sijh on Jun 14, 2024 1:35:05 GMT 1, We are heading to New York next friday (June, 21). We'll stay there for 7 nights. Are there any shows, galleries or street art spots not to be missed (besides the regular tourist program)?
recently I have enjoyed the murakami thing at the Brooklyn museum, the Liechtenstein Bauhaus staircase at Gagosian, Danial Arsham at Fotografiska.
there is a pretty cool exhibit at Tiffany with Basquiat, Hirst and many others.
Smaller galleries, Tagiatella, Pace, Perrotin, Alouche, Hole, many more.
for โstreetโ locations, wander round the Lower East Side, soho, Bowery. Take the train to Williamsburg, bushwick, etc.
if you are looking for something specific send me a dm.

On the corner of East Houston & Christie on the Lower East Side (First Street Green Park) 33 East 1st Street there are beautiful murals that were painted by LA2, Al Diaz, Mear One, Jeff Henriquez & many other amazing artists. You can still smell the paint and then can go across the street for a Knish at Yonah Schimmel's or a Pastrami sandwich at Katzy's.

Thanks again for the tip to go and see the Kenny Scharf show at Totah Gallery. The owner (David) is genuinely super welcoming and a great host to enjoy some great paintings in a very nice space. If you go there, DO ASK (nicely) to visit the basement and you'll be up for a remarkable treat... |

Dont' bother going to Atelier Jolie though : total waste of time and certainly not the most friendly staff (who didn't even allow me to visit the basement which is possibly the only thing worth the visit !) |
