I think a tow if illegally parked could be $300-500. In my town, NYC, there’s the tow charge, the ticket, and if you have any unpaid tickets those also plus penalties. In many smaller towns where signs are posted to not park or be towed usually a scam with high fees.
A larger question, to ponder on this Easter morning, is weighing the stats that in America, for example, the average person/family doesn’t have more than $400 in the bank for emergencies - that any deviation from the norm can cause distress. And that for many, with $400 or less tucked away for emergencies, the confines of credit allow for slow strangulation while continuing to acquire trinkets.

They pull $40 million out of drivers' pockets annually. It is a systemic-structural deficiency.

We do pay a lot more for Petrol here in the UK but easier to park. Just back home from seeing my middle one who lives in Brighton. Cost me £6.50 to park from 1 until 5.30. Looks like a bargain then compared to The US.
Always like to pop in to Prescription Art when there but was closed today.
