Apple Player, by Acme Thunderer on May 15, 2022 21:58:26 GMT 1, There is a really interesting background to this and great to see it in perfect condition.
This is one of just a few unique works that was available at an exhibition called MATCH POINT at Galleri-A in Oslo from 31 May - 10 June 2012.
Match Point is a collective exhibition with four artists who have their origins in the Street Art segment. Two of the artists, Bjørn Lyng and Martin Whatson, also work together under the name The Stupid Mammals. This collaboration has led to a gigantic decoration of the National Tennis Institute at Hasle. The tennis pictures are smaller variations of what is to be made there.
The Stupid Mammals is the collaboration between Martin Whatson and Bjørn Lyng. The works are smaller sizes of the murals carried out at the National Tennis Institute at Hasle. The artists use the Street Art aesthetic to show the game of tennis psychology in a new and sensational way.
I found details of another tennis mural on Martin Whatson’s flickr account that features early works - www.flickr.com/photos/martinwhatson/sets/72157628226262215
