Mine came assembled as a one piece and it was never advertised or shown as 2 separate pieces, so I always thought it was only one piece. There's no way I'm trying to pull it out of its socle to confirm. Too scared to brake anything. Lovely piece. Really enjoy it where it stands in my house, but must be quite fragile. That's one to be out of the kid's reach.

I think he's released porcelain pieces smaller than these for more previously.
