5 min walk from station..on the edge of the red light district....but not a sleazy place/street very voyeuristic views out the back mind you....
If you want more 4* style, this one www.jollyhotels.com/eng/ALBERGHI_scheda_master.asp?Obj=1286 is cheapest for the quality - although perhaps not so attractive on the outside as some of the other historic 4*'s, make sure you blag a superior room though....& If your on top blagging form get one of the 2 rooms with balconies overlooking the flowermarket. Location is centre of town on the flowermarket - a 10 euro cab ride/20 minute walk from the station - but very very central to everything else.

i've stayed in quite a few hotels but always book through www.hotels.nl
you get some good bargains on there so worth checking it out!
unsurprisingly though, i can't remember the names of where i've stayed

Big commercial hotel a few streets away from the central station. 4 of us turned up at 3am saturday morning(after driving from london) and we got a room with two double beds and breakfast inc (it was a full high grade buffet, champers the lot) for 200Euro for the one night.
Check out the Van Gogh museum!
I stayed in Grand Central Plaza last time. Big commercial hotel a few streets away from the central station. 4 of us turned up at 3am saturday morning(after driving from london) and we got a room with two double beds and breakfast inc (it was a full high grade buffet, champers the lot) for 200Euro for the one night.

You have to do something I came back a wreck and I only went for 2 days. It can be heavy going on the brain and other body parts.
When I was in Ibizia, I overheard a converstion in a queue for Amnesia. One bloke said 'Yeah I came last year for one week and nearly died....so I am here for two this year.

I would second that ;D Their 'Golden Soles' and 'Grey Mist Crystal Trichromes' are amazing. But leave it until evening or you wont get anything else done during the day Oh some cool Graff around that area too.
